Job Overview
The Advanced Automation Engineer is responsible for assisting with New Autonomous Product Design for various pieces of Mining Machinery Autonomy (Mining Shovels, Mining Drills, Mining Draglines, etc.) through a focus on development and testing.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Advanced Automation Engineer Role will be directly involved in the Technical Specification, Hardware Selection, Integration, Programming and Testing of systems designed to Completely Automate Large Scale Mining Machines/Equipment.The Advanced Automation Engineer will work closely with multiple design teams to help develop and facilitate whole system testing. We are seeking an experienced candidate that understands the Product Design Lifecycle, Software Development/Maintenance and the Critical Characteristics of Reliable and User-Friendly Product Design.
* This Role will have a split focus between new product design and the development of testing and simulation for in house product validation.
* This Role will beCollaborating in a Small Team Environment with a High Level of Autonomy and Freedom to Pursue Creative Design Ideas.
* Our team uses an Agile Style of Product Development, so high quality candidates will be experienced self-starters that are capable of turning functional concepts into technical designs with a strong focus on end user experiences.

Qualifications/Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field.
* 1+ year of Applicable Experience......(Robotics, Sensors, SW,Programming etc.)
* Some Formal Education in programming (not necessarily a degree in programming)
* 1-3 years of hardware and software in the loop testing preferred
Desired Skills/Experience/Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Robotics/Mechatronics or a closely related field, with 3+ years of related work experience.
* Control Architecture design.
* Previous experience in system integration involving controls programming
* Experience Integrating Advanced Sensors such as RADAR, 2D/3D LiDAR, etc. Experience Integrating Positioning and Orientation Sensors such as HPGPS, Inertial Measurement, etc.
* Prior experience with National Instruments VeriStand and TestStand or other HIL/SIL applications
* Previous experience in various Industrial Communication Protocols (RS232/422/485, TCP/IP, CANOpen, J1939, ProfiBus/ProfiNet, EtherCAT, etc.)
* HMI development experience
* LabView experience (certification as a CLAD, CLD, or CLA isa significant plus). LabVIEW/Matlab/Simulink Programming skills. Python/C++ Programing skills is a plus
