Job Description
Senior Accountant

General Overview
We consider our accounting employees, especially our Senior Accountant, critically important to our Company’s success. And we hope you do, too.

Supporting our Success
A successful restaurant organization is about three things:
  1. Preparing great food.
  2. Serving it with a smile.
  3. Monitoring and controlling costs.
Everybody sees the first 2, but it’s the 3rd that is the foundation of the job security we all want. You’ll have a voice in helping make that happen.

Working with People
Our Senior Accountant works with the Company’s Controller and Chief Financial Officer to make sure we properly report and understand all of the elements of our financial picture and comply with all policies and regulations. They also have a hand in working with lenders, vendors and landlords to make sure their needs are met.  You are the consistent resource for making these things happen as you work collaboratively with the rest of our organization.

Making a Financial Statement
Keeping accurate records, closing the books on time every month and quarter, and working with our Restaurant managers to understand and use the financial statements appropriately are big responsibilities and you will be a key partner in making all of that happen. A key part of employee satisfaction is making the job you have the one you love, and we’ll be very interested in your ideas about that.

Providing Solutions
Our Senior Accountant is more than a bean counter. You will be a leader in our organization, collaborating with our Restaurant managers and chefs and helping them understand how to use “the numbers” to be more knowledgeable, productive, and profitable. And helping us strengthen the bottom line.

Measuring Success
Obviously, the ultimate measure of our success is guest satisfaction and financial performance. Additionally, our Senior Accountant will be measured in large part by how well our restaurant leaders know their numbers and how to use them to be more effective.  That’s very important to us and your role in that is, too.

Becoming a Senior Accountant
Having a four-year accounting or finance degree will give you the background for this position; a CPA or MBA would be even better, but not required. Having 3-5 years of experience will provide you with the depth and perspective we’re looking for – especially if it’s in a hospitality, real estate or service industry job. And, of course, the attention to detail, computer skills, ability to communicate, work efficiently, and be a team player matter to us, and hopefully to you, too. If this sounds like you, contact us to learn more
