A unique blend of business and technical savvy is vital for the role that will help develop and be responsible to drive the long-term vision and strategy for new offerings of these exciting growth products. Emphasis is placed on innovation of new products and features to solve the challenges of the grid of the future. The position reports to the Sr. Manager, Product Management-Feeder Automation and the location is at S&C Franklin, WI.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:* Create the vision and strategy for new offerings/applications for assigned product within the Feeder Automation product lines and manage those offerings through their entire life-cycle, from definition of product to its obsolescence.* Responsible for end-to-end ownership of product and/or product portfolio, including planning, pricing, and the development of customer-focused documentation.* Responsible for developing, prioritizing, and championing product roadmaps for new and existing products.* Demonstrates an understanding of the marketplace that his/her product is used in, including customer requirements and success factors, competitors, and economic and regulatory factors.* Uses insights to make suggested enhancements on existing products and to develop compelling business cases for new products, with an emphasis on differentiating features.* Spends time with global customers and commercial team to truly understand their problems and needs, with a keen ability to grasp and communicate customer problems and thoroughly evaluate viable options, and new solutions to those problems.* Drive all commercial aspects of new product development through S&C's gate process, championing the voice of the customer.* Provide commercial team with the necessary technical expertise, competitive analysis, value propositions, and promotional tools to enable them to meet sales goals.* Develop and maintain key metrics and performance indicators to measure overall product performance and success.* Attend, participate, and speak at industry associations, trade shows, and other venues of marketing.To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:* BS degree in engineering, or related field. A MBA or other advanced degree is considered a plus.* Excellent Communication skills: Uses effective verbal, non-verbal, and listening skills to meet S&C's business objectives.* Strategic and visionary thinking.* Strong technical background, preferably with experience in medium-voltage electrical equipment and power system applications.* Plus: familiarity with automation products and overcurrent protection devices.* Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate and develop new application and product opportunities.* Ability to prepare compelling business plans, including value propositions and financial models.* Ability to write and deliver training courses and materials.* Ability to travel up to 30% of the time with some periods lasting more than a week, including occasional international travel.RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED* 5 to 10 years of revevant experince required* Product marketing and/or engineering experience of electric distribution and utility application equipment, which may include switching, protection and/or controls.MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS* Physical demands are those typically associated with an office environment, but may also include laboratory environments, factory environments, and customer/ field environments.* Must wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment and exercise safe practice in low-to-medium voltage environments, including development labs, test facilities, production facilities, and customer sites.* Frequent use of PC keyboard and mouse.* Proof of visual and aural acuity, or other physical suitability, as well as formal training and/ or testing and evaluation, may be required to enter or work in restricted-access areas.
