Job Description
The Fund Administration and Accounting Associate will join a highly collaborative and engaged operations team, supporting accounting functions for the firm's private funds. The ideal candidate has experience with alternatives' fund administration, including financial reporting and fund administrator oversight responsibilities. This role will primarily support the Firm's alternatives business including equity, fixed income, derivatives, and private assets.ResponsibilitiesThe candidate can expect to:* Assist with oversight of and interactions with external service providers, primarily the third-party fund administrator* Review net asset value calculations, investor allocations, performance calculations and other information prepared by the fund administrator* Drive workflow enhancements and advancement of team processes, with a focus on complex hedge fund and private equity structures including side pockets, co-investments, and special purposes vehicles* Play an active role in the year-end financial statement planning and execution efforts, plus assist with financial statement preparation and review; resolve inquiries from external auditors during the annual audit process* Review regulatory reporting (i.e. Form PF, Annex IV), including tying out financial information to supporting ledgers and performing analytical review procedures on information contained in the reportsQualificationsThe successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:* Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance with demonstrated academic achievement; CPA preferred* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with alternative investment products required* In depth knowledge of accounting and operations across a variety of investment types including equities, debt, derivatives, private investments, and real estate is required* Self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated ability to prioritize daily, monthly and year-end work* Excellent organizational and communication skills, confident verbal and interpersonal approach* Strong work ethic and sense of ownership; collaborative approach to solving problems* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required* Data analytics and knowledge of Tableau or comparable tools beneficialPrivacy Notice for California ApplicantsArtisan Partners Limited Partnership is an equal opportunity employer.
