Job Description
Concordia University seeks applicants for full-time faculty positions in the School of Nursing (SON). The successful candidate is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for classroom, online, blended, and clinical instruction, and other activities relating to nursing education. This is a twelve month contract with the University. This position reports to the Undergraduate Nursing Program Chairperson or Graduate Nursing Program Director (depending on assignments).Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesEach faculty member is expected to comply with all rules and regulations for University faculty as outlined in the Concordia University Wisconsin & Ann Arbor (CUWAA) and School of Nursing (SON) Faculty Handbooks. In addition, they have the following responsibilities:Academic* Implement teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs* Provide timely written and verbal feedback related to student performance* Keep current records of student grades and academic work* Participate in ongoing course and program review and revision* Participate in program governanceClinical* Teach and/or coordinate clinical courses based on professional expertise* Follow SON policies and procedures related to clinical teaching and student performance* Communicate regularly with course coordinators and program director/chair regarding concerns or questions* Work collaboratively with staff at assigned clinical facilities/agencies* Secure and evaluate clinical sites for student learningProfessional Activity* Maintain RN licensure and current knowledge of clinical practice within the areas of teaching responsibility* Assist with recruitment of students* Participate in professional, community, university, and school service* Engage in scholarship commensurate with academic rank* Other duties as assignedEducation and Experience* Current Wisconsin licensure as a registered nurse or eligible for such licensure* Master of Science Degree in Nursing and an earned doctorate in nursing or related field* Current knowledge of clinical practice within at least one of the following specialty areas is required: community health, psychological health, obstetrics/women's health* Previous teaching experience in a baccalaureate or higher degree program is preferredCompensation and BenefitsThis is a full-time, faculty, exempt position. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience.
