If you are a Product Engineering Technician professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Mount Pleasant, WI location, you will be responsible for performing test procedures and work requests on a variety of company products.AS A PRODUCT ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN I, YOU WILL:* Perform, set up, and conduct general testing with assistance from more senior technicians in the following areas:* Conduct Air / Electrical testing and analysis for Returned Goods Analysis (RGA) on both household disposer and hot water products.* Perform product testing on both household disposer and hot water products.* Perform thermo-cycling testing (i.e. Thermotron chamber)* Perform oher testing procedures as requested* Install or remove household disposer and/or water products from test stations.* Set up plumbing for various test stations.* Learn and understand the teardown and build procedures for various household disposer, commercial, and water products.* Prepare grind loads, including bones for bone grinding.* Assist with setting up and fixturing in environmental chamber.* Process written and verbal work orders* Assist with reports and charts in Microsoft Word and Excel.WHO YOU ARE:You stay aligned with your goals and stay productive. You encourage open dialogue to discuss alternative perspectives.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:* Associates degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline with a working knowledge of and experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems or High School Diploma and three (3) years' experience in these systems.* Must have a passing score on NOCTI pre-employment test.* Must be able to use hand tools and power tools, such as screwdriver, wrench, pliers, drill, etc. safely and correctly.* Ability to learn how to use and read gauges and meters.* Must be able to collaborate and work as part of a team.* Ability to use personal computers and Microsoft Word and Excel.* Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided.PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:* Experience in product testing or work in Lab environment preferred.* Hazardous Material and/or chemical training preferred.* Prior knowledge of InSinkErator product line preferred.This job is in a standard lab environment with exposure to plant floor noise and moving machinery. Work involves significant use of hands, and may involve working with equipment and parts that contain dirt, grease, food particles, etc. Technician is required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, such as eye protection, gloves, hearing protection, etc. Position will be required to lift 20 - 30 lbs. more than 2/3 of the time, with occasional lifting of 50 - 75 lbs. (less than 1/3 of the time). We offer the flexibility of a core hour work schedule. Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm.
