Job Description
Who We Are:Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 17,000 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. The District has 1 early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9th - 12 grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.Why We Do This Work:The Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 has set an ambitious agenda for change, guided by the belief that all children, regardless of circumstances, can achieve at high levels and academic gaps can and will be eliminated with the support of teachers who deliver engaging, relevant, and academically rigorous instruction that excites students and instills a love of learning in them.Organizational Relationship:Under the primary direction of the District Print Services Manager and secondary direction of the Executive Director of Information Technology Services.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Assist in the operation of all print shop machinery, including but not limited to copy machines, duplicators, silkscreen press, engraver, collator, booklet maker, binding machinery, cutters, drills, laminator, shrink wrapping and package strapping.* Load copy machines with paper and toner and replenish ink as necessary. Replenish paper and supplies to maintain an adequate inventory for continuous operation of Print Services.* Assist in clearing paper jams, solving minor equipment problems and performing routine equipment maintenance.* Operate all equipment in proper and safe manner, following all necessary safety and security procedures.* Answer phones and emails in a timely manner. Respond to inquires regarding print requests.* Support the smooth operation of Print Services.* Help maintain all workflow schedules and set priorities for the purpose of completing jobs according to the requested times, production work flow and schedule.* Receive and assist staff in the ordering, processing and completion of the print requests.* Learn and understand paper types, sizes, weights and finishes.* Perform basic mathematical functions accurately .* Assist in billing of print jobs.* Act as a liaison between the public and the office in such a manner as to present a positive image of the total school district.* Respond to inquires regarding print requests and have a clear knowledge of print services ordering/routing software.* Monitor quality of projects to meet quality standards.* Operates small equipment, finishing equipment/tools and handles material necessary to the services provided by Print Services.* Proficient in the operation of all equipment, skilled in finishing work and have a keen sense for graphic design.* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work with frequent interruptions, while paying particular attention to detail.* Assist in putting mail in staff mailboxes (both campuses) twice daily and processing mail to be delivered elsewhere.* Distribute/load paper to district copies at each site twice daily.* Keep in confidence all records and information* Assist with annual Chromebook maintenance and cleaning* Perform other job related duties as assigned.Qualifications:* Commitment to the belief that all children, regardless of circumstances, can achieve at high levels.* Good communication, organizational, computer, and interpersonal skills required.* Preferred ability to work with data from multiple computer environments, including but not limited to: Windows based PC's, district-wide networked systems including the mail and calendar systems, and web-based applications, Adobe Creative Graphic Design Suite and Microsoft Office.* Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively and prioritize strategically.* Ability to care for minute details and editing skills to ensure reliable and accurate results,; verifying information for accuracy.* Ability to do record-keeping, prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision and follow oral and written instructions.* Be able to successfully work in a collaborative environment.* Ability to interact with all staff in a polite and professional manner.* Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and manage documents in a timely and effective manner.* Waukegan High School Graduate and must be attending College or University.* Must be able to lift 50 pounds.Note: The above statements are intended to describe the essential functions and related requirements of persons assigned to this job.
