Job Description
Insight FS is headquartered in Jefferson, Wisconsin with branches all over the state. Insight FS has about 410 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 41,000 customers. The cooperative does business in agronomy, agri-finance, precision agriculture, nutrient management, energy, feed, grain, and turf. Insight FS is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENTCollects, investigates, and verifies financial information to determine credit worthiness of customers and prospective clients. Assists Credit Manager with effectively managing accounts and collection activities. Under the direction of the Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory Supervisor, manages and maintains files pertinent to safety and regulatory processes and procedures.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSCollects financial information for the purpose of investigating and verifying financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit, preparing documents to substantiate findings.Establishes, processes, and updates of customers' credit activities and designated reports. Prepares reports for management on credit and collection activities.Reviews delinquent account records to determine which customers must be contacted for collection of overdue accounts.Verifies accuracy of accounts and updates account information as necessary.Drafts correspondence for use in collection attempts and applies appropriate telephone techniques to manage collection activities when necessary.Addresses and handles inquiries, requests, and complaints from customers and/or company field personnel.Assists Assistant Credit Manager with the management of all other credit and collection functions. Serves as the back-up to the Assistant Credit Manager during times when the Assistant Credit Manager may be away from work.Assists management in formulation of credit procedures and policies.Promotes and follows company safety practices and regulations.Gathers, maintains, and inputs information on databases related to safety, DOT, environmental and risk management for site facilities.Maintains sire facility files and plans with updates as needed.Maintains safety, regulatory, environmental and insurance inventory, including training and compliance documents.Manages insurance documents including crop, auto and workers compensation claims.Performs miscellaneous administrative duties such as compiling safety packets, safety policy manuals, and training materials as needed.Involvement with meetings, inspections and seminars related to safety, DOT, regulatory and insurance.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONSSupports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts.Responsible for adhering to the company uniform policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.May be required to assist in Agri-Finance administration.May be required to assist in Energy Department administration.May be required to travel to assist with meetings and training.Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.Performs all other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTSNormally requires an Associate's Degree in related fields or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of credit, finance and/or safety and regulatory related work experience to demonstrate knowledge.Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.Prefer an understanding of GROWMARK System processes and systems.Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable training, permits, and certifications.Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, maintain a clean driving record and have the ability to travel independently and overnight.Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.We are an equal opportunity employer, including protected veterans and qualified individuals with disabilities.
