Join our team as a Sr Engineer Systems - Mechanical (IA). Job Summary The Sr. Systems Engineer will assist in the development and implementation of system strategies and technology roadmaps across the Harley-Davidson vehicle portfolio. In addition, the engineer will create and manage a "virtual shelf" of proven technologies, components and systems that support the long-range system strategies to ensure world-class product quality. This position will lead engagement with projects as an expert consultant providing key information and guidance throughout project execution. Join our team as a Senior Engineer - Systems and help develop vehicle architecture designs and strategies for future vehicle platforms through collaboration with Engineering, Marketing, Styling, external partners, and other stakeholders. This is what you will do: * Design and integrate chassis systems into next generation vehicle architectures * Establish design inputs through benchmarking and predictive methods for a vehicle and/or vehicle platform (geometry, mass distribution, acceleration & deceleration, ride & handling, ergonomics, energy consumption, etc.) * Mitigate technical risk by delivering CAD assemblies of complete motorcycles containing basic design and analysis of vehicle systems and interfaces * Exhibit new vehicle architectures and bundled innovation projects in proof-of-concept physical demonstrators * Improve existing and/or create new vehicle architecture and integration processes for Engineering Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree Required Education Specifications * This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree. Experience Requirements Required The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. In addition, they will have demonstrated the following: * Chassis Systems Architecture - Strong understanding of chassis system architecture and all major design considerations for vehicle integration. * Requirements Management - Demonstrated proficiency in cascading customer inputs into measurable vehicle level requirements that drives design of a component or system. * System Integration & Packaging - Has demonstrated high proficiency at integrating complex systems for an optimized vehicle through CAD packaging and alternative design tradeoff studies - with special emphasis on chassis systems for new and existing vehicle architectures. * System and Vehicle Tolerance Analysis - Ability to execute clean sheet drawing datum structures and dimensioning schemes. * Design for Assembly and Manufacture (DFA/DFM) - Experience with developing designs that are easy and efficient to assemble correctly and can be economically manufactured with common processes.
