MacLean Power Systems (MPS) is a leading manufacturer of products for electric utility, telecommunications and civil markets.Job SummaryAssembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures.Job Duties* Use hand tools and testing instruments to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components and isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment* Replace faulty switches, sockets and other elements of electrical systems* Dismantle electrical machinery and replace defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes and armatures* Mount motors, transformers and lighting fixtures into position and complete circuits according to diagram specifications* Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures* Inspect completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes* Estimate time and material costs on electrical projects* Requisition new electrical supplies and equipment* Read and interpret blue-prints or electrical schematics and has knowledge of the National Electric Code* Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately* Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)* Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures* Perform other duties as assignedExperience and Education* Perform work under direct supervision* Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff* Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter* Require accreditation from a technical school or applicable skilled trades program and 0 to 2 years of experienceCompetencies/ Skills* Ability interpret work instructions* Ability to follow written and verbal directions* Intermediate verbal and written communication skills* Ability to work as part of a team* Manual dexterity* Ability to lift/move heavy objects* Physical staminaEOE-Minority/Female/Disability/VeteranVarious agencies of the United States Government require employers to maintain information on applicants pertaining to factors such as race, sex, and type of position for which an individual applies.
