The Import/Export Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for ongoing development, administration, and operations of Generac Power Systems Import/Export compliance and operations. In addition, this position will be responsible for facilitating all global compliance standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily import/export compliance operations and requirements for global trade import/export transactions by working with internal staff, customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure timely clearance
  • Provide shipment clearance instructions on import/export transactions to internal and external contacts. Ensure full compliance with global trade regulations. Ensures current and thorough knowledge of relevant regulations, laws and upcoming changes.
  • Maintain import/export policies and guidelines and
  • Create process and procedure improvements where required improvements are identified
  • Be familiar with and apply regulations (e.g., FDA, EPA, PST ADD/CVD and CBP) for import/export on a global level, remaining current with changes to local regulations
  • Responsible for reconciling daily FTZ admissions and works closely with FTZ administrator and FTZ broker
  • Other duties and projects as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience with CBP and FTA regulations


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience understanding and interpreting traffic and customs rules and regulations
  • Experience using ERP (SAP preferred)
  • Licensed Custom Broker


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effective organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills including the ability to analyze, think and communicate with well-supported data
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing environment, materials and processes

Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Travel up to 10%.
