Summary Reporting to the Director of Engineering, The CAD Tech's primary function is to create and maintain an accurate electronic library of all standard and custom print approvals and installation instructions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management deems necessary. Creates and maintains product print approvals and product installation instructionsMaintains Metal-Era intranet product drawings and product installation instructionsMaintains Metal-Era website's product drawingsCreates detail drawings and initiates quotes for outsourced paint ordersCreates layouts from customer supplied templatesInteract with customers and vendors as needed to acquire accurate information Work with cross functional project teams supporting the development of new products/ideas for Metal-Era's brand of engineered solutions.Transform initial rough product designs into working production ready documents, using computer aided design (CAD) tool.RequirementsMinimum Requirements & Qualifications: The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of this position. Metal-Era will always consider candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of an Associates Degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience is required.Experience using CAD software is required; experience specifically using AutoCAD is preferred.Strong office-setting computing skills, including proficiency with PC hardware and Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).Excellent communication skills: including the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing at all levels of the organization. Must be able to efficiently translate technical details and concepts in daily communication to non-technical personnel or customer contacts.A proven ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment with conflict resolution, interpersonal communication, and creative problem-solving skills.A strong "customer first" mindset, and well-developed customer service and critical thinking skills that would optimize productivity.Demonstrated ability to self-organize, effectively time-manage, and prioritize one's own workload to maximize productivity and accomplish results.High attention to detail and a proven history of accuracy in completed work.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee may have to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Work EnvironmentThe position is primarily an office-based position with regular visits to the plant floor. The incumbent occasionally performs work-related travel, less than 10% of the time. The role is primarily scheduled weekdays, and during first-shift hours; however, some projects and initiatives may require the flexibility to occasionally work on weekends or during second-shift hours.
