Senior Calibration SpecialistJoin our team in Milwaukee, WI. We are expanding this site to provide R, manufacturing and operations support for catalog and custom TheraPure components. Your work will have real-world impact, and you'll be supported in achieving your career goals.What will you do?The primary goal of the Senior Calibration Specialist is to maintain and continually improve the calibration systems to ensure the right measurement equipment is always available and within calibration. The Senior Calibration Specialist will:Continually develop, improve, and implement the calibration program for measurement equipment used to develop, manufacture and test products.Serve as the lead role in administering the Blue Mountain asset scheduler program.Assist in the purchase, qualification, and validation of new and existing equipment.Setup and coordinate service agreements, preventive maintenance activities and the repair of measurement and laboratory equipment with outside vendors.Interact directly with outside Calibration services to coordinate activities - scheduling on/off-site repairs, adding/deleting equipment from service contracts.Source new equipment for laboratory or other applications as requested.Works cross-functionally between all groups in the organization and closely coordinates activities with the Facilities and Engineering groups.Principally interact with external customers and auditing agencies during on-site audits.Perform monthly scheduled and unscheduled calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair to on-site equipment.After confirming accuracy, enter all documentation, reports, results, and CoA's into the asset management system.Complete all work orders in a timely fashion.Recommend calibration standards for measurement and testing equipment.Responsible for writing, updating and/or reviewing all department SOPs, NCMs, DCRs, deviations, etc.The position is also responsible for any other duties apparent or assigned.How will you get here? Education and ExperienceMinimum of Bachelor's degree in fields such as engineering, math, physics, chemistry, biology or related field.7-10 years of experience in equipment maintenance, calibration, validation, or engineering fields.ASQ Calibration Technician Certification (CCT) and/or Military PMEL training is a plus.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stoop, stand, bend, kneel, crouch and crawl. Also use hands to finger, handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools, and controlsThe employee frequently lifts and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds with assistanceSpecific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distant vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus and differentiate between basic colors.Must understand and comply with RCRA Standards by successfully completing initial training for Hazardous Waste Handling within 90 days of date of hire, comply with standards, and annual training.At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 75,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
