GovTempsUSA is seeking qualified candidates to fill the contractual position of Property Evidence Manager. Successful candidate will be an employee of GovTemps with services contracted to the City of Waukegan. Hours will be 40 hours/week (M-F) for a 3-month assignment, starting in June 2021. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be hired permanently at the end of the contract term.
Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Managing the Evidence Storage Rooms (30% of the week),
Compiling, collecting, recording evidence submitted by Police Officers during the course of any given day (35% of the week),
Transporting evidence to the crime lab for analysis as requested by submitting officer. (10% of the week),
Preparing and delivering evidence to the State's Attorney's office for court proceedings. (5% of the week),
Destroying or transporting evidence to be destroyed as ordered by the Court (5% of the week),
Preparing documents and receipts as directed or required by policy, the law, federal government or the Chief of Police (5% of the week),
Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Candidate to be familiar with the Porter Lee evidence program known as the Bar Coded Evidence Analysis Statistics and Tracking (BEAST) system.
Successful candidate will have prior law enforcement experience; Lake County preferred.
Candidates must possess excellent computer skills and,
Working knowledge of evidence collection and processing procedures.
Spanish fluency is highly preferred.
