Larsen Marine Service, Inc. is one of the largest and best equipped marine dealership and service facilities on the Great Lakes. Located on Waukegan Harbor midway between Milwaukee and Chicago, we store and service over 750 pleasure boats. From our humble beginnings in 1933, dedicated employees and a commitment to quality support for Lake Michigan boaters have helped us grow into a modern 20 acre boat yard and marina.Our present staff of approximately 40 employees has an average of 15 years' experience with our company. We offer a friendly environment, good working conditions, a variety of work, competitive wages commensurate with experience, and a fun industry!We are seeking full-time, year round Marine Diesel technicians at intermediate or advanced levels with a background in diesel engines. Applicants should have the ability to perform accurate diagnosis and trouble shooting in addition to repair and maintenance of diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, generators and related electrical equipment. Duties also include seasonal preventive maintenance such as oil changes, belt and hose replacements, winterize engines, etc. Candidates must have their own tools. Must have ability to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. At times very tight working areas are necessary. Must be able to climb ladders and able to pull, push, and lift 50 lbs. Saturdays are required during peak seasons in spring and fall.Successful applicants are customer oriented, professional, disciplined and engaged in becoming a well-round marine service professional.
