Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started. **Summary:** Facebook AI is seeking Research Interns to join our Computer vision teams to work on innovative problems that would power the next generation product and platforms at scale. The problems range from various research domains and require applying cutting-edge algorithms to help us understand our content and users better. The duration of this internship is 16 weeks with Summer, Fall, and Winter start dates. We have openings in our Menlo Park, New York, and Seattle offices. Internships will be awarded on a rolling basis and candidates are encouraged to apply early. To learn more about our research visit https://ai.facebook.com/. **Required Skills:** 1. Develop novel state-of-the-art vision algorithms and corresponding systems, leveraging various deep learning techniques 2. Contribute to research that can eventually be applied to Facebook product and run on billions of media items every day 3. Based on the project, help analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of corresponding deployed algorithms 4. Collaborate with team members, all the way from prototyping in a notebook to deploying at scale **Minimum Qualifications:** 5. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree 6. Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment 7. Experience in Python and C/C++ 8. Research and/or work experience in machine learning, deep learning, and/or computer vision **Preferred Qualifications:** 9. Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op 10. Prior experience with deep learning frameworks 11. Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches 12. Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources 13. Proven track record of achieving results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at workshops or conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, SIGGRAPH or similar 14. Ability to communicate complex research in a clear, precise, and actionable manner 15. A strong interest in theoretical and empirical research and for answering hard questions with research 16. Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration 17.
