Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started. **Summary:** The Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) Research Team brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create the future of AR and VR, which together will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers are today. We are currently seeking innovative research interns with a passion for technology to develop next-generation head-mounted display and imaging systems. These roles are focused on developing advanced image synthesis methods for virtual and augmented reality systems. In particular we welcome PhD students in computer science, applied math, electrical engineering, or similar, with a strong background in deep learning, numerical optimization, computer graphics and computer vision. Our internships are sixteen (16) to twenty four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year. **Required Skills:** 1. Explore deep learning methods for image synthesis applications in virtual and augmented reality 2. Collaborate with the larger FRL Research team and provide creative leadership on computational camera and display technologies 3. Publish research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences **Minimum Qualifications:** 4. Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in the field of Computer Science, Applied Math, Electrical Engineering, or a related field 5. 2+ years experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, C/C++, etc. 6. 2+ years experience with deep learning platforms such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc 7. Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration 8. Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment **Preferred Qualifications:** 9. Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by first-authored publications in top computer vision and graphics conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH-Asia etc 10. Demonstrated experience via an internship, work experience, or widely used contributions to open source projects. 11.
