Job Description

TheMaintenance Mechanicis a skilled worker in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all components of both diesel and gasoline engine driven heavy trucks, construction equipment, and complex hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Process all shop repair orders by scheduling & assigning work to shop Associates.
  • Document and diagnose necessary repairs.
  • Assist with any repairs with shop associates when needed.
  • Provide effective communication to drivers and other company employees with down equipment of timelines for equipment to be back to DOT standards.
  • Complete all DOT record-keeping, in the internal system
  • Schedule company-owned vehicles for service, DOT issues, and corrections.
  • Schedule outside contractors for vehicle work (examples tire replacements and or repairs, windshield replacements and or repairs)
  • Perform repairs, including emergency repairs in the field.
  • Conduct service road calls.
  • Order supplies and parts.
  • 25%-50% data entry / coordinating
  • 50%-75% Maintenance work

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in a mechanical role.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel approximately 15% of the time.
  • Demonstrate safety-conscious behaviors.
  • Ability to operate small hand tools, power tools, hand trucks, drill presses, grinders, conveyors, gas welding, brazing or cutting apparatus, and various other heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work in an environment that includes exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, noise level, and outside weather conditions.
