Job Description

Ovation Jewish Home is located 1 mile north of Summerfest grounds. Our beautiful building overlooks Lake Michigan. Position Description:

  • Performs painting of the interior and exterior of the buildings, grounds, parking structure and garage.
  • Performs installations and repairs to wall coverings, drywall, cove bases and tiles.
  • Performs light maintenance throughout the buildings, grounds, parking structure and garage.
  • Performs tasks requested by Supervisor and/or Administration to insure a safe, pleasant campus for all. 
Note: This job summary is not intended to be all inclusive. The Maintenance Technician Level 1 Painter will also perform other reasonable business duties as assigned by their supervisor or other management personnel. 

           Essential Functions: (This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.)

  • Complies with the laws regulating and guidelines governing the facility, including the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Attends work as scheduled.
  • Maintains inventory by informing supervisor when materials and supplies are needed before they are used up.
  • Maintain records as required by company policies and procedures.
  • Perform various tests, inspections and work as required by Department, Administrative, and Local, State and/or Federal governing bodies and update records of same.
  • Fill in for staff as needed during absences, vacations etc.
  • Prepare resident living quarters upon vacancy, move-in, or transfers.
  • Understanding and operation of various building systems such as Fire Alarm, HVAC, Nurse and Help call systems
  • Maintaining of tools and equipment to promote safety and proper work habits.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-services and other campus activities as needed.
  • Attend work as scheduled with flexibility of hours as needed.
  • Comply with policies, procedures and operating standards of the facilities.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Two or more year's prior painting experience. 

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.

  • Ability to work as part of a team. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Demonstrates strong communication skills to interact with staff, administration, residents, families, and guests.
