PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Credit/Collections Representative, under general supervision, is responsible for efficiently and accurately maintaining timely payment of customer accounts through collection contacts.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
A High School diploma with a minimum of 3 years related work experience required, an Associate's degree in business, a related field plus the experience is preferred. Solid understanding of the collection process with experience required. Proficiency
in computer use with excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge and experience of an AS/400-type system preferred. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, place and follow-up on daily collection calls
  • Review edits of daily orders for holding of orders due to credit standing or orders which do not comply with established policy.
  • Review daily listing of suspended orders.
  • Maintain working knowledge of posting payments and all accounts receivable duties.
  • Support sales staff by providing credit information on their accounts.
  • Continually analyze account balances and update Credit Manager or any issues.
  • Prepare accounts for collection, if needed.
  • Review accounts for past due notices, letters, etc., as needed.
  • Prepare bad debt write-offs for review.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
  • Utilize proper safety precautions to avoid injury to self and others.

    MARGINAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Backup to other Department personnel.
  • Assist with special projects and/or assignments, as directed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • WORKINGRELATIONSHIPS:

  • Work with Credit/CS Manager and Credit Department Team to obtain guidance on projects, programs, and priorities.
  • Work with all levels of Hal Leonard LLC and outside personnel to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined.

    Office Machines or Equipment: PC, computer, copier, fax machine, printers and miscellaneous office equipment.

    Physical Effort: Lift and/or lower items weighing up to 50 lbs.

    Infrequent overnight travel may be required.

    Travel between plants may be required.
