Job Description Summary

Conagra has an opening for a Director of Finance in the Segment Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team located in Chicago, IL. This role is responsible for financial review, analysis and consolidation of actual results, projections, annual budgets, and strategic plans for the organization's four business segments. Supports the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officers of the organization, as well as Presidents and Finance leads overseeing each of the business segments. Provides guidance and leadership to staff. Partners with business to provide recommendations and ensure sound financial decisions are made for the organization. Leads efforts to effectively promote and incorporate best practices to continuously improve processes and efficiencies. Areas of responsibility may include: Finance, Accounting, M&A, Investor Relations Risk Mgmt, Trade, Pricing, and Financial Systems. Minimum 10 years related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting. MBA and/or CPA preferred.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, FP&A you will manage the tasks surrounding the financial analysis and reporting process. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial statements in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. Partner with business segment and function leads to provide recommendations and ensure sound financial decisions are made. You will spend a significant amount of time leading and developing the finance staff, and building relationships with management throughout the organization. Minimum 10 years related experience.

Position Responsibilities

  • Maintain staff by recruiting and training employees; develop personal growth opportunities.
  • Accomplish staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; monitoring, and appraising job results; conduct training; implement enforcing systems and procedures.
  • Partner with and provide support to the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officers of the organization, Presidents and Finance leads overseeing each of the business segments.
  • Prepare Monthly Business Review and Board of Director presentations for leadership in partnership with business leaders and cross functional finance partners
  • Provide support for internal and external financial statement in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the financial forecast and planning calendar, including quarter forecast schedule and Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan deliverables.
  • Participate in and review period-end close activities to ensure completion of assigned tasks, including identification and resolution of unusual items and issues.
  • Research and analyze business trends to provide data, analysis and recommendations to leadership
  • Work with the financial systems team in managing hierarchies and process changes to keep integrity and simplicity of financial reporting
  • Research and provide financial analysis related to actual results and forecasted financials.
  • Team assist with regular ad hoc requests, including M&A analysis and reporting.
  • Manage situations that may materially affect our overall financial condition.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX Controls and CAG policies.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA certification and/or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in public accounting, corporate accounting or financial reporting
  • Experience managing a team required
  • Knowledge of financial systems and general accounting principles
  • Knowledge of business operations, preferably in the in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
  • Ability to research and reconcile multiple accounts
  • Experience with SAP preferred
