Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full-time Prevention Project Specialist that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.

Job Responsibilities: Identify groups, community venues, or settings to access research populations, recruit participants and problem solve recruitment issues, contact, engage and schedule participants for study activities, and carry out study activities that may take place at our site or in community settings, travel to locations where research is being conducted as needed, interact effectively with members of study populations, including persons of Latino descent who may be at risk for HIV, this communication may be face to face, over the phone, and through other forms of electronic communication, recruit and screen participants, engage and remind participants of study activities, explain study procedures to participants, administer informed consents, and manage research incentives, conduct research activities with participants according to protocol. These activities may include
computer-assisted assessments, surveys, structured interviews, qualitative interviews, field observations and intervention sessions according to study protocols. Assist in the translation of documents, transcription of interviews or other audio data in English and Spanish, provide participants with educational and counseling and/or other risk-reduction activities following the study protocol. Distribute participant incentives according to established protocol, maintain project documentation and records, including participant data and locator information and daily study activities. Communicate with other organizations to obtain data, assist in data storage, data coding, and interactions with community organizations or representatives, conduct HIV counseling, testing and referrals, facilitate HIV prevention and other individual or group intervention sessions following the study protocol, complete required training and maintain skills for rapid HIV Counseling Testing and Referrals, complete counseling and testing of clients within the clinic and community with a focus on populations at higher risk for infection of HIV, HCV and STIs., uphold strict practices of confidentiality, complete case finding activities for persons at high risk for HIV for initial or follow-up testing
within the community, foster and maintain professional working relations with representatives of the community as well as with current and former participants, participate in team meetings, training sessions, and research planning sessions, as well as meetings with faculty, scientists, coordinators, and administrators. 
 
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Two years’ experience in community, healthcare, or social service settings working with diverse populations or outreach is helpful.
  3. Previous HIV testing or HIV outreach experience desired.
  4. Preferred experience working with a bilingual, multicultural population including people of color and LGBT communities.
  5. Bilingual (Spanish/English) required
  6. Must be able to work diverse schedules based on project needs.
  7. Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  8. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  9. Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, use of an automobile, and current auto insurance are required.
