The purpose of this role is to provide technical consultation, leadership, coaching, and strategic direction to drive continuous improvement and the pursuit of best practices (beyond compliance) for the management of environmental, health, safety and Workers Compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for required reports to federal and state agencies and for the maintenance of records and files
Works closely with production management in solving EHS issues
Monitors all EHS aspects of the plant operation and work to ensure that the facility remains in compliance with federal and state regulations
Effectively manages the workers compensation program
May assist with plant security
Keeps current on EHS requirements
Drives organizational change as regulations shift over time
Position Requirements:
Six to ten years of experience in the safety & health field required
A strong working knowledge of EHS regulations
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to plan and implement EHS programs
Prior history of proven Workers Compensation case management
Ability to work effectively with management, as well as associates from the floor
Bachelor’s degree required – EHS, Environmental Engineering, Safety or related fields
ASP or CSP certification or ability to acquire preferred
Travel: Minimal travel involved, but may be required.
