For over 37 years Kracor Rotational Molders, a Division of Yamaha Marine Systems Company, Inc., has manufactured high quality rotationally molded plastic products for national and international markets with parts for the recreational marine, industrial, agricultural, waste, lawn and garden, medical and others.
Yamaha-Kracor has an excellent opportunity for an Operations Technician II to join our Marine Group. The Operations Technician II will support operations at the rotational mold press. Main responsibility is to aid the Operations Technician 3 by trimming, inspecting, and retrieving parts helping sustain an efficient and quality driven molding process according to Yamaha-Kracor quality standards.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Demonstrate support of the Yamaha-Kracor Vision and Culture through verbal and physical actions of the Yamaha-Kracor Heritage, Traditions, Shared Values, Process Elements, Traits and Behaviors.
Responsible for Safety, Quality, Production Efficiency and Continuous Improvements in production.
Actively work to minimize Quality Returns, Quality Holds, and Powder Loss.
Accurately read, understand and follow production schedule and set-up sheets.
Accurately complete daily production paperwork and press documentation
Inspect parts and products for potential defects or suspicious quality
Identify and eliminate waste in the manufacturing environment with focus on the press area
Deflash all parts from designated press
Package parts at press
Address any nonconformance product immediately
Promote and enforce a tour-ready safe work environment, every day.
Supports onboarding and training for new OT2
Ensure proper operation of all molds by checking clamps, plugs and parting lines per each rotation.
Partner with all shifts ensuring effective communication is established and shift hand-offs are proactive in nature.
Help maintain a clean process flow and defined work sequence utilizing 5S.
Monitor that continuous flow is uninterrupted and quickly address any challenge that may cause inefficiencies.
Work as a Team Member through consensus decision-making.
Authority to shutdown machines for repairs, quality, or safety concerns.
Participate in and perform root cause analysis on press processes and product resulting from the press operation.
Build knowledge and skill base as an Operations Technician 3 in training.
May be required to perform other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Six months factory experience preferred, but not required.
Standing: Must be able to stand and walk for long periods
Lifting/Carrying/Pushing: Lifting/carrying parts, material and product of 30 pounds on a regular basis and 70 pounds occasionally.
Hand Tasks: Grasping, pinching reaching, handling, fingering, picking, or otherwise working with fingers and use of hand and arm tasks.
Work Environment: Eye protection is required.Temperatures range from 60 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
Other: Must climb steps, maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling, have good eye-hand coordination, stoop, bend, reach, handle, finger, feel and push.
Must visually detect defects, depth, colors, variances, and see objects as real
Strong organizational skills.
Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.
Ability to interact effectively with all team Members and personnel.
Proven success in a fast paced environment
