Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service.  We are seeking a full-time Project Nutritionist that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.

Responsibilities include:  Implementation of all nutrition and food package policies and procedures in the Wisconsin WIC Operations Manual, monitors the WIC Nutrition staff’s counseling and documentation skills, and ensures nutrition assessments are completed according to WIC policies, procedures, and initiatives, supervises, trains and evaluates WIC Nutrition staff including WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator, provides oversight to ensure the nutrition integrity for all nutrition-related activities in the WIC project, so that quality, culturally appropriate, participant centered, current and evidence-based nutrition services are provided, ensures that documentation facilitates clear communication between staff as well as a seamless continuum of care for participants, serves as a preceptor for dietetic and dietetic technician students and interns, in collaboration with WIC Director, ensures required annual training is provided to all WIC staff, maintains documentation of Nutrition and Breastfeeding staff’s continuing education requirements, collaborates with other programs within and outside of SSCHC to enhance services and resources for WIC participants, participates fully in the WIC Management Evaluation, including pre-visit preparation and responding to the findings. Analyzes and evaluates results of Management Evaluations (ME), attend required agency and WIC sponsored state and regional meetings as appropriate and incorporate information learned into WIC project services, reside on WIC and/or SSCHC committees and workgroups as appropriate, facilitate Nutritionist/Breastfeeding meetings, participate in program integrity activities by assisting WIC Director with program fraud and abuse prevention and monitoring, completes certification, mid-cert, mid-certification, and High Risk appointments in order to keep abreast of participant needs, WIC policies and procedures, oversees the development, implementation and modification of nutrition and health education materials, media messaging, lesson plans, classes, and nutrition staff continuing education per State WIC policies, Analyze ROSIE reports and other available data to coordinate nutrition services, plans and policies.

Qualifications:
  1. Registered Dietitian and must maintain RD credential during time of employment
  2. Minimum of two years working within WIC, additional maternal or child nutrition experience desirable
  3. Coursework in program management and public health nutrition preferred
  4. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups
  7. Ability to relate well to people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
  8. Valid Driver’s License at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment
