Position Summary

The Maintenance Multicraft Technician will be required to work closely with the Maintenance Leads and Maintenance Supervisors on a daily basis in order to execute all shift maintenance activities

The Maintenance Multicraft Technician is responsible to safely and proactively ensure the reliability of all systems and equipment, applying the necessary skills, attitude, and education to troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, perform predictive tasks, assist with preventive and overhaul maintenance tasks during maintenance windows, while contributing to the design and modification of systems and equipment.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Follow plant safety and environmental programs and procedures that are in compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow OEM and work order directions for proper installation, overhaul, operation, periodic inspections, and preventive maintenance following precision maintenance techniques on plant packaging and process equipment to insure efficient operation without direct or constant supervision and with minimum downtime.
  • Set up assigned production lines and assist in changeovers as required.
  • Provide feedback to improve maintenance activities in the future including preventative tasks, parts, tools, ect.
  • Perform building and grounds maintenance activities, including but not limited to changing light bulbs, electrical repairs and construction. Assist in general building repairs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematic prints of plant equipment and electrical lay outs, in order to fabricate, build, and/or revamp equipment and electrical systems with minimal supervision or verbal instruction.
  • Perform routine preventive, proactive, corrective and emergency maintenance activities on all assigned equipment based on technical and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) maintenance requirements.
  • Perform other tasks as required by lead or supervisory personnel within the expectations of efficient plant operations.
  • Aware of food safety risks and escalates found risks to lead/supervisor.

    Additionally, the following are required:

  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. without assistance frequently.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and problem solve mechanical and electrical technical problems.
  • Must be able to use and apply mathematics for problem solving.
  • Must be able to work from industrial electrical schematics and blue prints to perform electrical and controls installations.
  • Must be self-motivated and demonstrate skill, initiative and judgment to make and accept responsibility for decisions.
  • Must be able to utilize a CMMS to pull assigned work, research asset history and document work details accomplished.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Completion of a two year technical college degree program in electro-mechanical technician, industrial electrician or related electrical field and a minimum of 5 years' experience at grade, or minimum 8 years applied experience in the industrial electrical mechanical field.
