Job Description

The Full Stack Engineer delivers software products and services, with an emphasis on security. The products vary from web applications to scripts and the services include secure software consultation and offensive security testing. This is a role that mixes customer facing skills along with software engineering skills.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain modern web applications (Single Page App, RESTful API, and MVC)

  • Maintain and update existing custom web applications (Single Page App, RESTful API, and MVC)
  • Learn and stay up-to-date with software security best-practices
  • Learn and stay up-to-date with offensive security best-practices
  • Work directly with customers to advise and perform services as a software security consultant
  • Document work and draft reports
  • Collaborate with team members using remote tools (GitLab, Slack, Office 365, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Systems Administration in support of user issues
  • Monitor, operate, administer, and maintain 3rd-party, cloud-based applications including but not limited to:
  • Sales Applications
  • Financial Applications
  • Operations Applications (e.g. Time, Expense, and PTO tracking)
  • Support custom scripts and applications for customer solutions
  • Localization configuration scripts
  • Software Defined Networking and Orchestration solutions
  • Application integration in cloud environments
  • Other tasks and duties to be performed as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.


Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or 2 years web development experience

Basic Requirements
  • Proficient in framework-based modern web application development
  • Proficient in relational databases
  • Knowledge of how HTTP traffic works
  • Basic systems administration knowledge of Linux and web server (Nginx) configuration

Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with web application security risks and mitigations
  • Experience with penetration testing web applications
  • Experience with developing API web services
  • Experience with modern software development life cycles (design, dev, test, deploy, monitor)

This position can be based in SynerComm's corporate office in Brookfield, WI or can be a remote position.
