About Us

At Syngenta, we are working to build the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds and crop protection innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers. We are currently seeking a Warehouse Lead for the Crop Protection, Production and Supply team in Omaha, NE.

 
Accountabilities
  • Plan and organize the physical warehouse at Omaha.
  • Coordinate with Central Distribution Center for incoming/outgoing materials to/from Omaha.
  • Plan daily shipping activities along with the Warehouse Manager and Vendor Scheduler.
  • Facilitate implementation of new Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Operate and maintain Warehouse Management System.
  • Develop and provide training to all warehouse personnel.
  • Manage manpower as required to support plant operations and business requirements.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of freight (Truckload, LTL, Air, and Ocean).
  • Process receipt and shipment paperwork accurately and completely.
  • Perform periodic cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Uphold rules and standards set by the Omaha Foreign Trade Zone.
  • Move materials within the plant in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain and improve safe operations, environmental stewardship, and housekeeping standards. 
  • Perform routine and non-routine operations safely and efficiently.
  • Anticipate potential problems, resolve inventory discrepancies, and solve problems.
  • Ensure effective use of safety equipment such as respirators and protective clothing as needed.
  • Complete mandatory site training and required logistics training such as DOT, IATA, C-TPAT.
  • Work within site policies & procedures.
  • Develop loading formats and procedures for dry van and sea containers
  • Work with maintenance team to ensure equipment is well maintained.
  • Work within standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Monitor instruments, equipment and act on information.
  • Adapt to changes (new equipment, new procedures, and new products).
  • Flexible, able to work on various equipment.
  • Work directly with truck drivers, customers, and regulators.
  • Communicate effectively with plant production staff and management.
 
Qualifications 
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 5-years of prior warehousing, inventory management, and forklift driving experience are required.
  • Knowledge of warehousing and inventory control methods required.
  • Supervisory experience is required
  • Must possess good time management skills and be able to work independently.
  • The position requires good verbal and written communication skills.
  • All applicants must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and wear the required PPE.
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts when required.
  • Must be capable of operating industrial equipment such as fork trucks, yard tractors, and sweepers.
  • Must possess basic computer skills such as e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of SAP or equivalent manufacturing systems desired.
  • Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Attention to detail, continuous learning, applied learning.
  • Understanding of loading best practices.
  • Safety awareness and an attitude that promotes safe operations at all times.
  • All applicants must possess the skills and temperament required to deal with the public (drivers, customers, regulatory agencies, etc.)
  • Individual must be authorized to work in the United States for Syngenta without work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
