Job Summary

Join our team as a Senior Level - Design Engineer within Current Product Engineering to be part of our team that troubleshoots and implements solutions to current product issues to drive higher quality and improved customer experiences. This team works together with quality, systems engineering, test and reliability, Harley-Davidson manufacturing personnel, and suppliers to propose and implement design solutions that span across all vehicle systems.

Job Responsibilities

This is what you'll do:

  • Design, lead, and deliver solutions to resolve current production issues.
  • Work on a wide breath of vehicle systems and components across the entire current production vehicle portfolio
  • Develop and deliver project plans including design, test, integration, and implementation
  • Leverage analytical methods and test data to help optimize for cost and quality improvements
  • Lead technical development and integration with suppliers
  • Work with cross-functional groups up, down, and across the organization to obtain results
  • Contribute to efficiency and/or effectiveness improvements
Education Specifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related engineering degree, knowledge or experience in electrical systems is not required but preferred.

Experience Requirements

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. In addition, they will have demonstrated the following:

  • Self-starting & self-directing with a pro-active approach to deliver great results
  • Experience with designing, developing and delivering designs to production
  • Experience with designing for manufacturing processes including casting, forging, stamping, machining, inject molding, etc
  • Experience working with International suppliers and stakeholders
  • Experience with designing for assembly process
  • Knowledge of key systems and processes within Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Quality, Product Development and Service
  • Experience with risk mitigation APQP processes, including DFMEA, DVP&R, PFMEA and Control Plans
  • Experience with project management tools and principles
  • Knowledge of engineering test and diagnostics
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to influence across the organization
