The ISSenior Database Analyst is responsible for meeting the needs of internalhospital customers by providing a variety of services. The primary responsibility of this person isdata mining. Data Mining is accomplishedby creating SQL reports that retrieve data from the Data Repository or bywriting NPR reports which require the use of MAGIC programming to retrieveinformation from the hospital information system. This person will work closelywith all departments to determine what data is needed and the best way toobtain that data. All instances of SQL server are installed, updated, monitoredby the IS Senior Database Analyst. . Another responsibility is to developing scripting programs to automaterepetitive functions such as running reports or updating dictionaries asrequested by directors and administrators. Other responsibilities of this person include: assisting the SystemIntegrator with interfaces between diverse systems and the hospital informationsystem, training of hospital personnel in basic NPR report writing and otherdatabase software, trouble-shooting software issues and working closely withother IS staff to determine creative information system solutions.

Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
Microsoft Certified Subject Expert (MCSE) in Business Intelligence or DataPlatform preferred

Five years of progressive experience in healthcareinformation systems.

Two years' experience in NPR Report Writing, preferred.
Three years' experience with SQL Report Writing required.
