Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Evans’ Billing Team Lead is responsible for leading the admin and billing team while ensuring that customers and carriers are billed and paid in an accurate and timely manner.  Duties will include overseeing the processing of customer and carrier invoices within the company’s transportation management system (TMS), auditing of customer billings and carrier payments against existing contracts, resolving of pricing discrepancies, documentation of additional information into Evans’ TMS,  and the execution of internal processes, and any other duties as they are needed are to be expected.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Manage the daily metrics for the Billing Analysts and the workload for the team
  2. Facilitate answering billing questions and escalate to direct supervisor if necessary
  3. Develop and document process changes; drive process improvements within the teamWork with internal customers to ensure all billing requirements are understood and noted in system
  4. Participate in and help with the training and development of the team; provide team members with yearly goals
  5. Audit and review carrier invoices for accuracy
  6. Update TMS for customer billing
  7. Enter new orders from carrier invoices
  8. Contact freight carriers for missing information and problem resolution
  9. Prepare routine customer reports or invoices
  10. Review orders in TMS for unbilled or open orders
  11. Perform all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable and/or transportation
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Leadership and supervisory experience
  • Experience training new employees
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and reporting functions
  • Ability to learn new software
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask
  • Team-oriented
  • Enjoys working with numbers
  • Ability to write and speak fluent English
