Summary Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the Design Project Engineer designs pressure vessels and heat exchanger products, meeting or exceeding company production and quality standards, and meeting customer delivery requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Lead the technical development and qualification test phases of new products as well as redesign of existing products.
Plan & monitor progress via schedules, budgets and design reviews.
Oversee the creation of documentation such as specifications, statements of work, certification documents, test procedures.
Design products, meeting engineering standards, applicable codes, customer specifications, and within cost constraints.
Review and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements.
Ensure conformance to customer specifications and company standards for quality and manufacturability.
Redesign standard products, improving quality and productivity, while reducing costs.
Evaluate and select components and parts for the products.
Work with Purchasing to procure new parts for the prototyping of designs.
Develop working relationships with Production, Purchasing, and Sales departments for working together toward producing the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost.
Act as technical resource for product field support of customers, service personnel and field sales, assisting in addressing and resolving questions and problems.
Participate on cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design and quality problems, and ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods.
Suggest ideas for new products and product changes to improve performance, costs, or manufacturability.
Stay current in new developments in the industry.
Follow all housekeeping procedures.
Comply with all quality and safety regulations.
Some travel is required.
Create custom designs of HVAC/Air conditioning units, power converters, or refrigerators

BSME or MSME and 5+ years of experience in design
3+ years of experience in project management
Basic understanding of electrical schematics.
Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills
Design experience in the development of commercial heat transfer products such as Refrigeration, HVAC, and other applied products, preferred
