Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer will assist and lead projects to introduce new products, procure new equipment, troubleshoot production issues and ensure the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and methods while reducing costs and improving quality.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, plan and ensure the maximum utilization of human, material and machine assets, work force utilization, space requirements and workflow, and layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Participate on cross functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing problems and to ensure the continuous, on going improvement of processes and methods to improve productivity and quality, and reduce costs.
  • Research and justify capital equipment expenditures for efficient and economical manufacture of products.
  • Perform "prove out" of new manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, fixtures, etc., including compliance to quality specifications.
  • Update and document set up sheets, tooling, fixturing, etc.
  • Design and develop new fixturing, tooling, etc.
  • Work with vendors to test/trial upgrades of existing tooling to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Process new parts in the shop.
  • Complete, organize and maintain all required paperwork, records, documentation, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Engineering or related field required
  • 2-4 years of related experience required
  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as die casting, fabrication, material handling and assembly and distribution required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD and Solidworks
  • Individual should be competent in reading mechanical and electrical prints, and have the ability to program various CNC machine tools
  • Individual must be a motivated self-starter and team player with excellent communication skills
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles and tools is preferred
  • Competency with Microsoft Project and leading projects is also a plus
