We have an immediate opening for a Layout Technician on 1st/2nd Shift.

This position is responsible for all operations of the Layout Department including dimensional inspection of castings, tooling and machined parts, product flow through the department in support of production demands and verification of customer supplied designs for first article inspections (FAI) requirements. This position will interact directly with Operations, Engineering, and Quality department personnel.

• Complete required dimensional inspection in support of production using gauges, coordinate measuring machine (CMM), Laser Scanner Arm, and other measurement techniques.
• Assist Engineering in sample development including FAI and control plan requirements.
• CMM program creation and use of Laser Scanner for verification of customer-supplied designs.
• Assist Tooling Engineer to monitor tool wear and in-process dimensional evaluation of patterns, shells, and castings.
• Perform gauge R&R and calibrations, read and interpret engineering drawings; interpret GD&T requirements.

To be successful, the candidate should have the following attributes, skills, or experience:

• Experience with dimensional inspection tools, CMM use and programming
• Demonstrated technical & mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and communication skills.
• Experience with fixturing and basic metal machine desired.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Able to follow written and verbal instruction with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic, motivation and discipline.
• Able to lift 50lbs.
• Comfortable with computer usage and willingness to learn new programs.
