We understand these are confusing times as we navigate the COVID-19 crisis. We are still actively seeking caregivers and support staff for our clients. We can do virtual interviews and paperwork can be completed online. Some positions may not start until the current situation is over, but interviews and hiring procedures can be completed now so you can begin a wonderful new job when this crisis has passed. Job Description
Seeking engaging, kind, committed individual to work with a 20 year old on the Autism Spectrum. This young adult would benefit from the attention of a mentor who is comfortable with autism and anxiety.  Your role would be a mentor and skilled companion.  An ideal opportunity to work one on one to support the development of an incredible young lady who is creative and compassionate.  She is engaged in music, volunteering as well as working at the zoo. 

Your role as a mentor would include working on conversational skills/soft skills through meal planning, grocery shopping, community engagement through volunteering and event planning while navigating life’s events with grace and dignity. Physical/Emotional fitness through working out at the YMCA.

Ideal candidate will be proactive, creative, energetic, patient, nurturing, reliable, and possess active listening skills.

Hours: Flexible- weekends and late afternoon/evenings are best..

Minimum qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or have background in special education, psychology, communicative disorders or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience working with children or adults with autism.
  • Possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
  • Have reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed).
  • Clean motor vehicle record (driving may be required).
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
