Job Description

Summary

  • Partner with product and client areas to understand business needs related to search and translate them into ridiculously easy experiences for our portal environments.
  • Drive engineering and architectural best practices in order to analyze, design and develop deploy and support software solutions, and/or infrastructure implementations/upgrades.
  • In a DevOps environment, you move between diverse tasks with cooperation and persistence, helping to bring out the best in those around you.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: (List in order of importance)

  • Works with minimal supervision on large, complex projects.
  • Contributes to the innovation of software solution development
  • Consults on right-sizing decisions, software solutions, and services.
  • Recognized as having expert knowledge.
  • Provides day-to-day leadership and coaching to less experienced professionals.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with engineering best practices to include analyzing, designing, developing, deploying, and supporting software solutions, and/or infrastructure implementations/upgrades.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong sense of ownership and the ability to work with a limited set of requirements.
  • Ability to explain technical solutions to technical and non-technical teams.
  • 4-8 years of experience.


SharePoint search skills

  • Content source/result source creation
  • Crawling/Integration techniques for external content sources
  • Search schema management
  • Display templates
  • Query rules
  • Managed Metadata
  • Refinement configuration
  • KQL/XRANK
  • SharePoint Hybrid Search/ On-prem search topology configuration
  • SharePoint Search Analytics

Other technical skills

  • HTML/CSS/JavaScript (For search display templates)
  • SPFx (Needed when we decide to move search to modern pages)
  • PowerShell (SharePoint/PnP - useful for a variety of admin and reporting tasks)


Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies/Dev Ops environment.
