Job Description

Typical work week is M-F 8:15am-5pm

*Hours may vary based on business needs

Description: Responsible for managing the underwriting staff and processes for the Commercial Credit Department.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

*Manage a group of credit analysts that are responsible for analyzing, presenting, and making approval recommendations on loans that meet policy criteria to the Board of Directors or Loan Committee.

*Mentor and train lending related staff in analyzing and rating the risk of each borrower, based on credit/accounts receivables audits, inventory audits, real estate appraisals, liquidity, market position, overall business climate, and financial statements, loan covenants, or other information as requested.

*Provide feedback on credit write-ups.

*Utilize software products for various underwriting functions.

*Assist with collateral valuation process including the preparation of evaluations, along with ordering and reviewing appraisals.

*Provide advice to loan officers regarding loan policies/procedures, credit analysis, financial statement evaluation, and credit investigations.

*Monitor portions of the existing loan portfolio to include letters of credit, and the participation, municipal, SBA and subdivision loan portfolios to ensure proper origination and servicing.

*Assist with the preparation of the quarterly ALLL analysis.

*Participate in various committees that focus on loan portfolio monitoring and loss mitigation.

*Recommend any credit related procedures/policy revisions for the Bank.

*Present/participate in semi-annual Loan Reviews.

*Any and all other duties as assigned.

*Schedule staff to adequately serve customers

*Approve staff time off according to Bank policies

*Manage performance and employee relations issues with confidentiality, timeliness, professionalism, and tact

*Attend interviews and recommend hiring/staffing decisions to HR

*Ensure Bank policies and standard procedures are enforced and well communicated at all times

*Share relevant and important information with staff through regular meeting to allow questions/concerns

*Meet one on one with staff members at least quarterly to review performance progress on goals

*Attend relevant meetings and passes information to staff

Requirements:

*High School Diploma or GED required.

*Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Finance/Accounting; and 2 or more years of Banking/Credit experience including supervision, or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

*Working knowledge of commercial lending and financial statement analysis, income tax laws and return preparation, and documentation.

*Working knowledge of both procedural and legal aspects of commercial loan documentation.

*Strong analysis software/computer proficiency (LaserPro experience a plus), including Word and Excel, database and ability to produce tables of information.

*Ability to make decisions with little supervision.

*Interact positively and communicate well (written and verbal) with all staff levels.

*Effective presentation and supervision skills.
