MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP

Wis-Pak Inc., a leader in the manufacturing and distribution of Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew, Klarbrunn and other leading beverages is currently seeking a Full-time Maintenance Technician Apprentice at its corporate location in Watertown, Wisconsin.

This is a second shift position (1:30pm-10:00pm) with school on Thursday from 7:30am-3:30pm. Tuition, books as well as hours at school are paid for and is a five year commitment.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, Lead Person and/or Shift Supervisor, this Maintenance position is responsible for maintaining the quality performance of production, auxiliary and repair equipment necessary to run a safe and efficient plant operation.

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide timely response of all trouble calls, diagnose and remedy problems, document all tasks performed.

  • Repair and replace equipment and apparatus in an efficient, safe and sanitary manner.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, document tasks completed, amount of time taken to perform duties and any deficiencies found.

  • Perform start-up and shutdown of equipment, involving energizing and de-energizing of equipment.

  • Safely operate power tools, hand tools, welding and cutting tools and manlifts as required.

  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion and conform to all quality and safety regulations.

  • Comply with all food safety, plant and equipment safety, GMP, and sanitation standards and procedures.

  • Report completely and accurately daily maintenance work orders.

  • Report any unsafe operating conditions, practices and/or personnel.

  • Must be capable of following written and verbal instructions in order to perform assigned maintenance tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requires education as normally acquired in one (1) year of technical school OR equivalent job experience in a manufacturing maintenance position, preferred.

Possess electrical and/or PLC knowledge, preferred but not a requirement.

Required to lift up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.

Able to stand or sit for a majority of the shift.
