Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Process Technician/Lead is primarily responsible to respond, troubleshoot and perform routine repair work on manufacturing equipment in a timely manner. 

 DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Perform and complete forms for press/fixture PMs
  • Perform molding machine set-ups from mold installation thru producing an acceptable product, verify tool condition
  • Primary contact for troubleshooting of molding process/equipment problems/lean problem solving methods
  • Support the running of molding jobs thru material changes and equipment maintenance, ie; filters, mixers, etc.
  • Perform daily production mold cleanings, plastic media blast and/or solvent cleaning
  • Verify Line Clearance
  • Convey unused tooling to the proper storage locations
  • Deliver unused material handling equipment to the solvent cleaning room and fill out proper forms to properly keep inventory
  • Run acceptable first shots per customer specifications or comapny standards
  • Mold Test slabs and pucks
  • Signoffs on Routers and Post Cure Verifications to make sure routers are properly completed
  • Identify and maintain Safety, Quality, Productivity, scrap, rework, utilization, and efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned.

DESCRIPTION OF MARGINAL DUTIES:
  • Observe and promote Company standards and policies on safety, quality and productivity.
  • Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in medical device and clean room environment
  • Support and observe 5S and other lean manufacturing methodologies.

HIRING GUIDELINES: (To perform job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required/preferred).
  • Successful completion of four-years of high school, or equivalent , plus completion of two years of college or graduation from a two-year technical college with an associate’s degree, preferably focusing in the areas of mechanical, electrical, electronics, hydraulics or pneumatic systems repair, robotics.
  • Three or more years of experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Clear understanding of Preventative Maintenance Programs and 5S principles
  • Medical Device manufacturing and clean room environment experience is desired

This physical demand level for this job is considered medium with frequently lifting 10-25 pounds. Exposure to lifting more than 50 pounds is rare (if ever).

During maintenance work, employee will frequently be exposed to sustained bending, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl, reach above shoulders and repetitive bending or squatting with constant exposure to dynamic standing/walking and using hands to finer/handle or touch.  The employee will occasionally be exposed to static standing/walking, pushing/pulling (15lbs), floor to knuckle lift/lower (15lbs), knuckle to shoulder lift/lower (15lbs), shoulder to overhead lift/lower (15lbs) or climb/balance (on ladder).  The employee will rarely (if ever) be exposed to using foot/feet to operate machine.
The following vision requirements apply: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The employee will constantly be exposed to working near moving mechanical parts with frequent risk of electrical shock.  The employee will occasionally be subject to, working in high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and outdoor weather conditions, but rarely (if ever) be exposed to extreme cold or heat (non-weather) or wet/humid non-weather conditions, travel on company business.  The noise level is considered loud (normal shop conditions).
 The employee will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as: safety glasses in the designated areas, hairnet/beardnet and jumpsuit when on the production floor, gloves when handling hot objects or solvents, earplugs when required and steel toed shoes (preferred).

TOOLS/EQUIPMENT/COMPUTER SOFTWARE:
The employee will constantly use hand and power tools as well as other maintenance equipment with frequent use of shop tools, electrical test meters and PC with Microsoft Office Products.
