Job Description

Main Function

Assist in establishing unpaid claim liabilities and determining pricing and funding estimates for future exposures by relying on historical data and developing reasonable assumptions.

 

Outline of Responsibilities

*Update actuarial spreadsheets, written reports, presentations and proposals

*Ensure data integrity and arrange data for use in analyses

*Perform initial stages of actuarial studies

*Work with actuarial team to conduct reserve and pricing estimates for the three insurance trusts operated by IHA as well as our non-IHA clients

*Manage all regulatory filings and conduct compliance work

*Conduct monthly billing and invoicing of clients

*Investigate trends and anomalies in data

*Other duties as defined

 

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in a quantitative concentration (e.g. mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or economics) or a degree to be earned within the next five months within a quantitative concentration. Experience in data analysis, mathematical modeling, and proficient in spreadsheet applications (either from employment or an academic setting) is required. Must possess strong problem solving skills, be detail oriented, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and use sound judgment. Should enjoy researching, analyzing, and evaluating complex data independently and working within a collaborative environment while meeting deadlines.
