Healthcare Technology Management
Independently, performs skilled technical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices.
Analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices utilizing established electronic test and measurement equipment and techniques.
Installs, calibrates, and tests new medical electronic devices and/or systems.
Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on medical electronic devices in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations, applicable codes, standards and department policy. Lifts, carries and/or pushes/pulls various items (bags, boxes, carts, etc.) while utilizing proper technique.
Conducts scheduled and unscheduled electrical and functional safety inspections on medical devices.
Interacts with clinical staff on a regular basis to insure needs are being met.
Documents and maintains accurate records of all inspections, repairs, adjustments, etc. performed on all equipment.
Modifies existing electronic devices and systems to meet the special needs of the user in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
Requests and/or orders necessary repair and spare parts according to established procedures and contract relationships. Makes recommendations for capital equipment replacements to Clinical Engineering Leadership. Interacts with manufacturer's representatives to obtain the necessary technical product information.
Participates in both internal and external educational programs through professional associations, technical training courses, and seminars to develop and maintain the required current technical aptitude.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office or similar products (primarily Word and Excel). Basic knowledge of networking technology. Use of personal vehicle for travel to various sites is required/expected.
