Preview Assessment

We are looking to fill multiple Resident Care Technician-Advanced also known as CNA - Lead positions at the Department of Health Services (DHS), Southern Wisconsin Center (SWC) in Union Grove, WI.

State Benefits include at least 3.5 weeks of vacation, 9 paid holidays, an ample amount of sick leave, a top-rated health plan, an exceptional retirement plan and low-cost insurance options starting at $31/month for single plans and $78/month for family plans after two months of state service.

Second Shift (2:45 p.m. - 11:15 p.m.) and Third Shift ( 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.) positions available. Weekends and holidays will be required if falls on your rotating schedule. All applicants must be willing and available to cover all shifts and work overtime as needed. In addition to the hourly salary, employees who work night hours will receive a $0.45 add-on per hour for hours worked and employees who work weekend hours will receive a $0.60 add-on per hour for hours worked.

Position Summary:

The RCT Advanced Lead Worker (Unit) position is responsible to display competency working in every residential building while mentoring and coaching RCT-Obj. staff in providing ongoing Active Treatment for the majority of their time. This lead worker position participates in, and is responsible for, providing active treatment, promoting independence and choice, and implementing the treatment programs defined by each individual program plan in accordance with Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) regulations. It is responsible to adhere to ICF/IID regulations pertaining to, but not limited to: resident protections, active treatment services, resident behavior programs, health care services, and dietary services. This position is also responsible for transporting and providing direct support to individuals during on-Unit medical/dental appointments

Special Notes:

All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

This position has physical requirements which may include but are not limited to lifting up to 55 lbs, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and balancing. Applicants may be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.

All appointees will be required to successfully complete the New Employee Orientation training program during the first week of employment. Training period length is determined based on certification. This training period is full-time, Monday-Friday at SWC.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid CNA Certification(will be verified upon appointment)

  • Must be willing and available to attend the required training full-time, Monday-Friday during the first week of employment

  • Must be willing and available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed including staying for the next shift or working additional shifts as assigned to maintain facility staffing requirements. (up to 15.5 hours total in one shift)

  • Experience utilizing computer programs (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, internet, etc.)

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

In addition to the minimum requirements, well-qualified applicants will have:

  • Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Experience following individualized plans of care for patients or residents.

  • Experience working cooperatively with co-workers, supervisors, patients/residents, etc.

  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills

  • Experience being a lead worker and/or supervisor in a health care setting
