You will join our Ramboll Environment & Health department

As our new Senior Sediment Management Specialist, you will be part of our interdisciplinary team in the Americas, engaging with other business and technical professionals. You will work with all levels of technical expertise, from entry level team members to members with decades of experience, many of whom are subject matter experts in their own fields. You will engage in a continual learning environment through coaching, mentoring, and on the job tasks.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams on the development and execution of complex and challenging evaluations, including: Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Remedial Designs, and Remedial Actions, leveraging the Firm's Integrated Services model
  • Serve as technical mentor to Sediment Management practice personnel
  • Provide technical expertise to the Firm's existing contaminated sediment nationwide portfolio of local, multi-agency, and Mega sites
  • Participate and provide key strategic input for the Firm's Sediment Management practice growth initiatives and enhancing the Firm's portfolio nationally
  • Consult on new sediment opportunities and existing projects with the Firm's leaders outside the Americas, as appropriate
  • Collaborate with key practitioners across our established and growing water group on projects where contaminated sediments are a factor in ecological risk, navigational dredging, flood protection design, resiliency planning, and habitat enhancements and restoration
  • Assist with development and implementation of brand building, including authorship of technical presentations and papers, and growth strategies for the Firm's Sediment Management practice, working with the Sediment Management Team and Business Unit Leader
  • Support innovative sediment management strategies and thought leadership to enhance the Firm's position as a leader in sediment management

  • BS in Engineering required, advanced degree preferred
  • Professional engineering licensure required
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience, technical leadership, and project management in contaminated sediment management including dredging, capping, and monitored natural recovery; project experience with navigational dredging and/or habitat restoration will be a plus
  • Demonstrated client relationships and ability to develop business in a team environment
  • Experience working in and contributing to high functioning technical teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with differing audiences (client, regulator, contractor, public)
  • Expertise in contaminated sediment regulations with significant working knowledge of federal, state and local environmental regulations and programs; working relationships and negotiation experience with State and Federal regulators
  • Location: Proximity to an existing Midwest or Northeast Ramboll office is preferred, though other locations will be considered
  • Active participation in professional associations and sediment-related organizations
