The International Sourcing & Procurement Internship will assist in the international sourcing and procurement process as a member of our international product sourcing team. Located at the Batteries Plus Bulbs corporate office and national headquarters in Hartland, WI, the International Sourcing & Procurement Internship will help support our 700+ stores nationwide. In this internship role, you will communicate by email and phone with our international suppliers, many of which are located in China (fluency in Mandarin strongly preferred). You will also assist in sourcing various battery and lighting products with our international suppliers to achieve cost savings and profitability, communicate and help build relationships with our international vendors, collect and analyze quotes, assist with sourcing projects, request product samples for evaluation and assist our Supply Chain and Quality Assurance teams.

The International Sourcing & Procurement Internship will be a current student working towards a Bachelor's Degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, posses advanced Excel skills, and ideally be fluent in speaking Mandarin to communicate with many of our global suppliers located in China. Responsibilities

• Assist with sourcing product with international suppliers
• Communicate by email and phone with international suppliers to help build and maintain relationships with vendors located in China
  • Fluency in Mandarin strongly preferred
• Assist the sourcing team with new supplier qualifications and related documentation
• Coordinate periodical audits and performance evaluations of suppliers
• Assist in new supplier qualification, coordinating factory audit and approval
• Assist the Supply Chain team and Quality Assurance team as required relating to vendor relations

Qualifications

• Current student working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Business, Engineering, STEM, or related field
• Solid understanding of purchasing and international supply chain concepts
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills
• Proficient in MS Office including Excel
  • Prior knowledge of, or willingness to learn Google G-Suite
• Ability to work at least 15-20 hours per week
• Fluency in speaking Mandarin strongly preferred
