Job Purpose:
Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform light to medium cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include tending furnace filters, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning some snow or debris from sidewalk.
Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities:
Monitor building security and safety plus checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
Knowledge of basic, entry level electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
Must possess basic hand tools.
Gather and empty trash.
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables and chairs to prepare facilities for events.
Move heavy equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
Job Qualifications:
Experience and Education:
3 to 5 years of General Facility Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
High School diploma or equivalent
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.
Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine, entry level maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
