What's the role?

As a Technology Productivity Coonsultant, you will serve as a member of the Northwestern Mutual training staff. You will interact both with our Corporate Technology Team and the onsite leadership team, supporting the needs of local leadership, Financial Representatives (FRs) and their staff. This role is looked at as a dual position and will also act as an IT support resource and be responsible for providing both Level 1 and 2 operational productivity assistance to internal customers.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Daily, you will be responsible for supporting the FRs and staff by training them on a variety of key software programs and modules and providing basic technology support. You will also focus on hardware primarily (computers, network) to provide technology support accross your assigned network of offices and across technologies, including all office equipment & technology beyond computers (e.g. mobile devices, printers and more). Your mission will be to provide outstanding learning opportunities and ongoing support so that the FRs and office staff can leverage available tools to manage their business, sell products and provide support to policy owners.

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in business or an equivalent combination of education and/or progressively responsible work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience to include the following. Experience can run concurrently or in addition to each:
    o Three + years of program support working with professionals in financial services or similar industry with demonstrated ability to build/develop relationships at various position levels through a consultative model. Minimum of three years' experience in coaching/training individuals how to optimize their business through the use of technology is highly desirable.
    o Minimum of three years of coaching and training experience preferred
    o Minimum of three years financial services industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to understand software technology focused on sales practice and the ability to articulate the benefits and uses to select audiences
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Strong technical knowledge of computers, networks, systems & the Internet including the ability to:
    • Answer basic troubleshooting questions for desktop computers / laptops
    • Support and maintain a LAN/Server
    • Install system changes
    • Provide sign-on maintenance/assistance
    • Set-up and maintain networked computers
    • Order network office computers and track maintenance agreements
  • Proven ability to drive measurable improvements in an outcome based model. (e.g. prior demonstrated ability to drive % increase in adoption, sales etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate groups of people.
  • Non-Registered Fingerprinted

This position has been classified as an Associated Person under NMIS guidelines and requires fingerprinting and completion of required form.
