ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Research story ideas, topics and events
  • Fact-check department and feature stories
  • Light editing, proofreading and copywriting
  • Work with print and digital teams
  • Administrative tasks as needed

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Pursuing a course of study in journalism or communications or related field; interns are normally rising juniors or seniors in college.

Recommended Skills:

  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent, professional communication skills (email, phone and in-person)
  • Collaboration
  • Ability to model leadership skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office skills
  • Familiarity with AP style
