Contract/Freelance Project Description
OTR Class A CDL TRUCK DRIVERS! - COME WORK WITH A GREAT COMPANY AND EARN GREAT PAY!

Summary

The responsibility of the Driver is to operate a commercial motor vehicle following all DOT rules/regulations and to transport house hold goods interstate.

Duties:
  • Inspect vehicle and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating condition prior to departure.
  • Check shipping papers to determine nature of load and any special hazards, and check load itself and methods of securing it.
  • Operate vehicle in compliance with company rules and all applicable state and federal regulations, and in accordance with accepted principles of safe driving.
  • House hold goods pack, load and deliver.
  • Special products load/deliver.
Responsibilities:
 
  • Report all accidents, incidents of equipment damage; whether owned by driver or company and to report any bodily injury involved in any accident.
  • Maintain trip records as required.
  • Maintain records for compliance with state and federal regulations including: driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases, and mileage records or any other record required by the DOT or the Company.
  • Proper use and care of all equipment for performance of driving duties.
  • Report promptly any delays that will effect pick-up or delivery appointments.
Desired Skills and Experience

Requirements:
 
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must possess one current Class A CDL issued in the state of primary residence.
  • Must be physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle as required by DOT regulations.
  • Ability to pass qualification requirements.
  • Verifiable minimum of one year driving experience OR successfully complete a driver training course with six months experience.
  • Dispatch will determine place and time of driving required.
  • Take and pass a pre-employment drug screen and functional test; up to date medical card.
  • Hazmat endorsement desired.
Physical Requirements:
 
  • 49 CFR 391.41 (if applicable).
  • Driver must:
    • be able to sit for extended periods of time in a tractor and be able to enter and exit the cab several times per day.
    • be able to walk, bend, lift, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb, as necessary, to perform vehicle inspections.
    • be able to hook and unhook tractor and raise and lower landing gear.
    • be able to load and unload trailers with or without mechanical devices.
