WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AS AN EXPERIENCED DIESEL TECHNICIAN
As a Diesel Technician, you will work independently, performing both major and minor repairs. Working on all-makes commercial trucks and buses and completing maintenance work consistent with Lakeside best practices and industry standards. You will also receive the opportunity to help mentor and guide other technicians while learning from your experienced leadership team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
  • Troubleshoot and repair of suspension, driveline, steering components, brake system
  • Install injectors, pistons, liners, camshafts, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, and brakes, change or recharge batteries
  • Document all work performed and recommended repair orders
  • Conduct road test to ensure vehicle as needed
  • Adherence to all company and industry safety standards
  • Ability to organize the work presented and plan for the highest efficiency and productivity in the performance of all job functions
  • Continual training and development in support of individual career and company goals

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Vocational or technical certification on vehicle repairs
  • 3+ years of experience working with diesel engines and heavy duty trucks
  • Experience with repairing commercial vehicle trucks along with basic training in transmission and engine diagnostics
  • Ability to work with diagnostics computer for troubleshooting and repairs
  • Must have your own toolset to perform assigned responsibilities
  • Ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
