Position Responsibilities: • Work closely with design engineering and manufacturing operations’ teams to understand technology and manufacturing requirements associated with commodities.
• Define direct material sourcing strategies to support establishment of supply chains; maximize current and future market conditions and define contingency planning to mitigate risk.
• Drive excellent sourcing processes in all areas of spend.
• Establish end-to-end process with ownership and commitment to procurement strategies throughout planning and execution.
• Evaluate performance metrics for priority/critical commodity responsibilities.
• Utilize consistent methodologies to pursue deliverable that is aligned with strategic objectives and delivery policies. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain/strategic sourcing and business industry work experience focused on direct materials.
• Requires familiarity with material procurement in a lean manufacturing environment, leveraging volume spend, inventory turns, and continuous improvement tools.
• Experience working with an ERP system and expertise using MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel) and Outlook.
• Experience driving direct material sourcing savings.
• Ability to resolve problems to attain goals and manage project timelines to meet deadlines.
• Must have strong background in building strategic relationships with suppliers and internal customers and stakeholders.
• Team player with excellent inter-personal and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Avionics
• Knowledge of FAR/DFAR and commercial procurement regulations
• CPM or CPCM certification or APICS certification
• Demonstrated application of Six Sigma/Lean methodologies to yield tangible business results.
